ArmInfo.The agreement with the EU is an opportunity to implement and intensify reforms carried out by Armenia, with the support of European partners, Gagik Minasyan, chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on financial and budgetary issues, said at a press conference in Yerevan.
On November 24, Armenia signed the Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership with the EU on the margins of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels. Signatures under the agreement in the presence of RA President Serzh Sargsyan and Chairman of the European Council Donald Tusk were appointed by the RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogerini.
"The agreement includes serious opportunities for sending the development of the situation in Armenia, bringing the sphere of human rights in line with Western standards, in this sense the Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership is not an ordinary document, but a serious document that can further determine Armenia's progress in many spheres ",- noted the Republican.
In this light, Minasyan stressed the importance of Armenia's joining the Trans-European transport network and initialing the Agreement on the Common Aviation Zone.
The parliamentarian noted that ratification of the Agreement with Armenia by 24 EU member states is evidence of their separation of article on Karabakh from a clear statement of support for the Minsk peace process on based on the application of the three fundamental provisions of the Helsinki Act on the non-use of force, territorial integrity and the right of peoples to self-determination. The agreement on a comprehensive and expanded partnership has already become public.
The accent in the extensive 357-page document is put on the affirmation of justice, freedom, security in Armenia; reforming the Constitution and the judiciary; observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms, etc. All this is provided that the European Union participates in financing various projects in Armenia.
