ArmInfo. The elections to the local self-government bodies of Armenia were distinguished by a high turnout. Alexander Iskandaryan, the director of the Caucasus Institute stated at a press conference in Yerevan on November 7.
According to him, such a level of appearance in such elections indicates that people were artificially involved in electoral processes. "Elections were quite competitive, there were a number of cases of victory in elections, not favorites." Of course, low participation of political parties in the elections to the MLA was recorded, which is due to the lack of resources for participation in them. "In most communities, there was competition between different candidates from the Republican Party of Armenia, which was quite expected, "the expert said. And in this context, he added that the elections in the MLA are becoming more politically inert and people vote for those who offer specific programs to address the pressing problems of the communities.
