ArmInfo. To provide transparency and targeting in the provision of medical services to the population, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan called for reconsidering mechanisms for the distribution of state orders. He stated this at a meeting of the Armenian government on August 31.
According to him, in the reforms implemented in healthcare sphere of Armenia, the key moment is the revision of the mechanisms for the distribution of state orders with a view to ensuring competitive and transparent mechanisms for provision of targeted medical services and allocation of public funds.
According to the above mentioned, Karen Karapetyan instructed Minister of Health of Armenia to review the criteria for selecting medical institutions that carry out state orders in 3 months, giving priority to the share of paid services in the total income of the organization. According to the Prime Minister, in the large medical institutions of Armenia serving state orders, from 2017 it is necessary to introduce mandatory annual external audit, providing for this the relevant legal mechanisms. At the same time, within 3 weeks, it is necessary to conduct a pricing analysis for expensive medical examinations, clearly highlighting the cost of procedures, and submit relevant proposals to the Government of Armenia

At the meeting with the representatives of the health protection system of the Ararat region, the minister noted the importance not only of ensuring the quality of medical services, but also of resolving the issue of transferring money flows from the shadow turnover to the "white cash desk", as doctors should receive a larger percentage from the health facility.
ArmInfo.Since September 1, 2017 in Armenia, a new procedure for providing medical services within the state package to state employees comes into force. The bill, providing for relevant changes, was approved at a meeting of the Government on July 27.
