ArmInfo. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the case of damage to the property of LLC "Tropika", which imports bananas into Armenia.
As the owner of the company Vahram Mirakyan told ArmInfo, according to law enforcers unknown persons poured the company's refrigerators with acid, although there is no final data of the examination yet. Earlier, on his Facebook page, Mirakyan wrote that unknown persons had poured refrigerators of Tropika with an undetermined liquid, which caused them to stop working. "If the employees of the company did not suddenly catch on, 20 tons of bananas would be spoiled, which, however, managed to be moved to other refrigerators," he wrote.
In a conversation with ArmInfo correspondent Vahram Mirakyan stated that this was the first "unpleasant" case in his practice. The company "Tropika" has been importing bananas since the end of 2016, and has already imported 80 tons of fruits from Indonesia, Russia, Georgia, Ecuador. "We never had any problems at customs or with other state bodies," Mirakyan assured, saying that what happened was totally unexpected for him, since he had never had any conflicts with anyone and he had not previously received any threats . At the same time, the entrepreneur stressed that he will continue to import bananas into the country.
He also noted that serious material damage to the company as a result of the incident was not caused, as the refrigerators managed to be cleaned and they again earned. The businessman connects this incident with his commercial activities, since he has no personal enemies.
To note, the main importer of bananas and tropical fruits in Armenia is the company Ketrin-groups, which belongs to the deputy of the National Assembly from the ruling Republican Party, Mihran Poghosyan. The company "ArmEk trading", owned by the son-in-law of the bankrupt businessman, ex-deputy of the Republican Party Ashot Agababyan, is also engaged in imports of bananas to Armenia from Ecuador.
