ArmInfo.Unfortunately, in recent decades there are more and more problems and challenges on the European continent, international law faces serious challenges , and Europe has undergone serious geopolitical changes. This was stated during the speech at the opening of the PACE summer session by the Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip.
"Unfortunately, in some countries these changes were accompanied by conflicts, which are still unresolved and are a factor of regional instability," Moldovan Prime Minister said. And in this context, he called on the Council of Europe to pay more attention to resolving these issues.
Philip also touched on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, the Ukrainian crisis and the Georgian problem. In his conviction, there is no ideal model for conflict resolution. "Nevertheless, I am firmly convinced that the conflict in Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and the deep crisis in the East of Ukraine should be resolved on the basis of respect for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. In addition, it is necessary to learn from the past and take responsibility for further action," Philip concluded. It should be noted that at the summit of the heads of the EEA member states in Bishkek on April 14, it was decided to grant Moldova the status of an observer country in the Eurasian Economic Union. This decision was made by the highest Eurasian Economic Council (EEC).
