ArmInfo.Californian legislative body adopted resolution on $10 million for teacher retraining and organization of trainings of Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire at the beginning of 20th century, as well as on other issues related to human rights protection.
Document was submitted by the head of the budget subcommittee of the US Senate, Senator from California Anthony Portantino. To note, early in 2014, the US Senate of California State unanimously adopted a resolution on the teaching of the Armenian Genocide in schools, which includes the inclusion in the curriculum on the subject of human rights of oral testimonies of survivors of the Armenian Genocide and witnesses.
