"We call on Armenian citizens in Iran to refrain from visiting the territories where Iranian law enforcements conduct operations, in particular, in southern regions of Tehran, and public sites. In case of appearing in emergency situation, immediately contact the Embassy of Armenia in the Islamic Republic of Iran (e-mail: [email protected], phone (0098) 21 6670 4833, address: Ostad Shahriar Str, corner of Razi Str., Jomhourie Eslami, Tehran)", the MFA statement received in ArmInfo reads.
To note, armed men opened fire in the Parliament of Iran, at about 10:30 local time, and took several hostages. The attackers were armed with pistols and two AK-47. They are blocked now, the building in surrounded by the police. Special operation for seizure of the building began.
Iranian parliament's director for public relations said that the situation in the parliament is under control. According to him, as a result of shoots in the parliament one men is dead, one of the members of the parliamentary guard was injured in the ankle and two others were injured in the chest and arms. He also added that the open meeting of the parliament is still ongoing and the meeting of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission is taking place on this issue.
According to the latest data of Media, the number of victims in parliament reached 7, and 4 are taken hostages. More then 40 people are injured. MIA of Iran called extraordinary meeting.
Earlier it was also reported about shooting at the territory of the Imam Khomeini mausoleum in the south of Tehran. According to local media, the suicide bomber blew up the explosives that were on him. As a result of the incident, one person was killed, at least five were injured.
The terrorist organization <Islamic State> assumed responsibility for the attacks.
