ArmInfo. Yerkir Tsirani leader Zaruhi Postanjyan on May 14 in the morning voted in Yerevan City Council elections. According to her, she came to the elections with a fighting spirit and voted for freedom.
While talking to journalists, Zaruhi Postanjyan informed about received alarms related to the electoral bribery distribution facts. As she noted, money is not being distributed inside the polling stations, but outside. "Today we will observe the situation both in polling stations and out of the polling stations. We have information that people are being forced in polling stations, are being distributed colored pens, by which they must note the ballot-paper," Postanjyan stated, calling Yerevan's nationals to participate the voting. At the same time, Yerkir Tsirani leader thinks that Armenia does not need disturbance, and the shift of authorities became a necessary thing. "This is an opportunity, a humanitarian path for the authorities to leave. And they should use this chance,"she stressed.
To note, in accordance to the legislation, if as a result of the Yerevan City Council elections, one of the parties will get more than 50% votes, party's leading candidate is being considered a Mayor. If the candidate does not correspond necessary demands to become a Mayor, refuses the post of Mayor or none of the parties receives more than 50% during the elections, the Mayor is being appointed by secret voting of Council members. Three political forces participate the elections-Republican Party with the active Mayor Taron Margaryan, Yelq with lawmaker Nikol Pashinyan and Yerkir Tsirani Party with Zaruhi Postanjyan.
According to Gellup International Association social survey recent data, Taron Margaryan leads with 72.3%, then follows Nikol Pashinyan with 15.5%, and Zaruhi Postanjyan with 4.7%.
