ArmInfo. Bloc The Armenian National Congress - the People's Party of Armenia expresses its concern over the political disagreements that have become more frequent during the election campaign.
As the Bloc's statement reads, the situation prevailing in the country is the result of ineffective work of law enforcement agencies. The bloc calls on the authorities to identify and punish the guilty as soon as possible. "The timely identification and punishment of perpetrators in various incidents will contribute to the legitimacy of the election campaign and the equal participation of all political forces in it", the statement reads.
To note, only yesterday there were two new incidents. During the pre-election campaign of the Ohanyan- Raffi-Oskanian bloc, in Odzun village of Lori region, between the bloc's representatives and supporters of the ruling Republican Party, a clash occurred. As stated in the message of the bloc, during the campaign, its representatives were attacked by the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) representatives and a scuffle began.
This night, supporters of the candidate of the Republican Party, the head of the department for state property management and son of the Speaker of the Parliament Galust Sahakyan, Arman Sahakyan tried to settle scores with the candidate for deputy from Tsarukyan bloc, the owner of Cherry restaurant, deputy Vahan Karapetyan. Although Sahakyan himself explains the incident solely by everyday motives, which have nothing to do with the election campaign.
Recently, fights involving the use of weapons between members of the ORO and the RPA took place in the village of Djrarat. As a result of the incidents several people were injured. To note, the current elections are distinguished by the particularly aggressive attitude of the Republican Party and its candidates, despite statements by the country's leadership that the electoral process should be crystal clear and democratic. Particularly with his repressive methods of action, the governor of Ararat region Aramais Grigoryan distinguished himself, who began dismissing officials who did not participate in the agitation of the Republican Party. In the Ararat region, fights also occurred between the candidates from the RPA itself.
Earlier, in the Aragatsotn region, the candidate from RPA Bazmaser Araqelyan beat the ARF Dashnaktsutyun party supporter.
