ArmInfo. It is very strange to hear accusations about the organization of "illegal settlement" of Artsakh from the lips of a man who recently declared that Azerbaijan should organize a great return of Azerbaijani refugees to Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated in a conversation with the correspondent of ArmInfo by the NKR leader's press secretary David Babayan.
According to him, such statements cause great surprise, as the actions of the Armenian side are purely humanitarian in nature. He also stated that the possibilities of Artsakh are limited and asylum is granted to a very limited number of people. "This is not a massive event. And such statements again demonstrate the discriminatory and unilateral approach of the Azerbaijani side. We believe that this is another manifestation of the destructive position of Azerbaijan, especially against the backdrop of statements by the leader of this country in Paris which was incomprehensible and far from the logic of the negotiation process on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement. This again indicates that the leadership of Azerbaijan is in a deep moral and psychological crisis", resumed Babayan.
To note, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, speaking at a session of the Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on migration, refugees and internally displaced people held in Bacu today, stated that "solving the problems of refugees make respect the territorial integrity of countries and put end of double standards". According to him, "more than 1 million refugees and have become the result of the occupation of the territories of Azerbaijan by Armenia and their problem will be completely resolved only after the liberation of the lands". As the deputy minister noted, the Azerbaijani government has prepared in connection with this the "Great Return Program". "Armenia purposefully conducts in our territories a policy of illegal settlement of the occupied lands, tries to prevent the return of forced migrants to their homes. It encourages the resettlement of Armenians living in Syria and Lebanon to the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. However, we will soon liberate our occupied lands, solve the problem of refugees and internally displaced people. The international community must support Azerbaijan on this issue", Khalafof summed up.
