ArmInfo.The Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan used the administrative resource during the agitation in favor of Republican Party of Armenia in Syunik region. the head of the programs of anticorruption center Transparency International Varujan Oktanyan stated this, presenting the results of the monitoring on the organizations on usage of administrative resouce.
"The Premier, during the campaign on March 10, used the work time for agitation while he had to be busy with his direct Prime Minister duties. Oktanyan also noted that since March 5th, when the agitation campaign started, 8 cases of pressure on school and kindergarten directors, 14 cases of pressure on relatives and friends of the candidates, 8 cases of pressure on opponents, 5 - participation of a member of the electoral commission in campaigning, 31 - pressure on the voters, 13 - obstruction of the deployment of the headquarters of opposition parties, 2- deployment of the headquarters of the ruling party in the buildings of state structures were registered"
Meanwhile, the Armenian Central Electoral Commission has already issued a statement in which noted that Karapetyan did not violate the law during the campaign in Syunik. The Office motivated its decision by the fact that Karapetyan did not use official powers during the campaign. At the same time, the CEC noted that the law does not prohibit an official from engaging in agitation during working hours.
