ArmInfo.. Artsvik Minasyan, the Nature Protection Minister of the Republic of Armenia, will be proposed as candidate for Armenian Parliament in Armavir District by rating-based list. This was stated by Artsvik Minasyan at the conference held on February 10.
According to him, Armenian Republican Faction of Dashnaktsutyun has no decision for this moment other that participating in elections all by its own, as an independent power, as that has been done almost always.
At the same time, according to the Minister he, as a member of ARFD Supreme Body, expressed his readiness to take and active participation in parliamentary elections. " As a person, occupying a post of Minister, my goal is to make my own deal in the implementation of ARFD Programs," Minasyan stated, adding that according to the statement made earlier, the political agreement with Ruling Republican party is a short-term one, and does not assume a joint work at any certain stage. After the elections and in a case of success ARFD will continue its cooperation with Republican Partyin respect to their programs implementation "as far as those programs are aimed at the implementation of changes and reforms in the country."
To mention, the parliamentary elections in Armenia is scheduled for April 2, but many political powers state that this date contradicts the provisions of the Constitution and Electoral Code. Beside that, according to them, the voting on the date mentioned has also a moral meaning, because the April 2 is the Anniversary of April War. In response to these arguments Serzh Sargsyan stated he does not mind to change the date of elections, if there will be a complete political consensus, but only due to the moral aspect of the problem, and not the legal, because he is sure that the decision taken fully conforms the requirements of the Constitution. "A would like to dedicate those days to the memory of our heroes, too," Serzh Sargsyan said.
The process of parties and blocs registration for upcoming elections started on February 6. According to the Central Electoral Commission, parties and Bloc could submit all the necessary documents until February 16.
