ArmInfo. The authorities of Armenia and Artsakh have their share of responsibility for the losses on the line of contact, ex-foreign minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), independent analyst Arman Melikyan has told ArmInfo.
Over the past three days the Azeri armed forces have been intensively firing at the NKR Defense Army positions from mortars and large-caliber weapons, killing two Armenian servicemen. One more Armenian contract soldier has been seriously wounded.
"I think Baku will keep initiating actions to escalate the tension until Yerevan and Stepanakert revise their political line and take measures to effectively resist the bellicose tactics of the Azeri leadership," he says.
The analyst notes that Azerbaijan's regular ceasefire violations vividly demonstrate that the current tactics of the leaderships of Armenia and Artsakh with respect to the adversary is no longer effective.
Melikyan thinks Azerbaijan is unlikely to succeed in a blitzkrieg. "Anyway, the Armenian side badly needs to take measures to effectively resist the Azerbaijani tactics aimed at exhausting the Armenian side. The reluctance of Yerevan and Stepanakert to initiate such steps to that end make them responsible for our losses on the line of contact," he says.
