ArmInfo.French Constitutional Court has declared the provision of Senate's resolution on criminalization of Armenian Genocide invalid. The Court has stressed that the provision particularly restricts freedom of speech.
To note, this is the second time when the Constitutional Court of France has declared Senate's resolution on criminalization of the Armenian Genocide contradicting to Constitution. First time this happened in 2012. Later the French parliamentarians initiated new amended resolution. However, the adoption of it led to discontent of the Turkish community of France, which has applied to the Constitutional Court asking to study the legitimacy of the given resolution.
