ArmInfo. If during the previous elections the ruling Republican Party of Armenia relied on "ghost voters" at the upcoming elections it is going to bribe voters, Leader of "Republic" party Aram Sargsyan stated at the congress of "Yelk" political bloc.
"The authorities have divided the country into 13 parts and have appointed one or two inspectors-oligarchs in each of them, who are instructed to ensure victory of the Republican Party of Armenia. They hope to bribe the voters giving them 10, 20 or even 50 thousand drams, however we hope for civic awareness", the politician mentioned. Sargsyan also added that he wouldn't participate in the work of the bloc and would not join "Civil Contract" and "Bright Armenia" if he were not sure in victory of Yelk. "If fair elections take place the bloc will be largely represented in the parliament. However, if the authorities rig the elections the bloc jointly with other protesters will come out to streets", he noted mentioning that Yelk is for peaceful shift of power.
Member of the alliance and Civil Contact Party Board Sasun Mikaelyan in turn added that Yelk intends to change the environment in the country. According to him no progress is registered in any field, moreover, in his opinion with every passing day the fundamentals, on which the country is built, are shattered. According to him the levels of migration, unemployment, poverty, crimes are concerning. "Our alliance is ready to cooperate with all the forces and figures who are concerned of the future of the country and are ready to implement new ideas, which will lead to system reforms", he summarized.
It was previously reported that the Yelk bloc comprises Civil Contract Party, Bright Armenia Party, and Republic Party. The bloc's negotiations with Gyumri-based Gala Party and some members of Heritage Party are not over yet.
