ArmInfo. The murder of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov is a terrorist act, Artak Zakaryan, the chairman of National Assembly Permanent Commission on Foreign Relations stated.
At the same time he said he is confident that Turkish authorities should hold back of raising any obstacles in Russian-Turkish relations."I think that Turkey should undertake all the necessary steps to prove that there was no any intent of authorities in this incident," Zakaryan summarized. Andrey Carlov, Russia's Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov was shot dead at an art gallery in the Turkish capital on Monday. The gunman was an off-duty policeman Mevlut Mert Altintas, 22, who opened fire at an art gallery in Ankara as Andrei Karlov was making a speech. After which the gunman was shot down by Turkish policemen.
Andrey Karlov passed away of 11 fatal shot wounds. Russian Foreign Ministry qualified this as a terrorist act. According to the preliminary information, he has graduated a police college in Izmir. Russia and Turkey intended to arrange joint investigation, an operative group comprising 18 officers has already left for Turkey.
