ArmInfo.Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu accused Armenia of telling "a lie" about the Armenian Genocide.
"You're talking about honesty, but speak about the genocide lie everywhere", Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at the 62nd annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly held in Istanbul as a response to Armenian MP Koryun Nahapetyan, who accused Turkey of supporting the ISIS.
According to APA, the Turkish minister mentioned the letter of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Armenian leadership. "The letter said that you are putting these claims forward. Let's create a joint commission consisting of your and our scientists, open archives. However, the Russian, US and UK scientists are also to join this process. We are ready for any results. You said "no". Why? Because, you prefer lie and don't believe in yourselves," APA quotes Cavusoglu as saying.
The Turkish minister also touched on the Karabakh problem. "When you speak, you introduce yourselves as an angel of peace. Do the UN and the Council of Europe resolutions say Armenia has occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan's lands or not?" he said, noting that Turkey has given some advice to Armenia. "We made offers to you. We said we'll open borders if you leave Karabakh. You said why do we lay Azerbaijan down as a condition? We answered Azerbaijan is our fraternal country and its problem is our problem," APA quotes Cavusoglu as saying.
