ArmInfo. Analysis of the expert opinion on the Amulsar project of the consulting company Earth link & Advanced Resources Development (ELARD) at this stage suggests that there are no grounds for criminal prosecution of anyone. Thus, the  criminal case instituted more than a year ago is likely to be  terminated.

ArmInfo.There is no reason to continue the prosecution of the Amulsar project. This was announced on August 14 during a press conference specially convened  by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Yura  Ivanyan, head of the Anti-Corruption Department of the Investigative  Committee of the Republic of Armenia, referring to the expertise on  the Amulsar project of the Earth link & Advanced Resources  Development (ELARD) consulting company.  

ArmInfo. If the operation of the Amulsar project is considered disastrous from an environmental point of view, then 90% of mining enterprises should have been  suspended. Such an opinion was expressed by the former Minister of  Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia, Advisor to the Director  of the Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences of  Armenia Sargis Shahazizyan at a press conference on August 8.

ArmInfo. In a criminal case being considered by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Vayots Dzor Region on the facts of hooliganism, as  well as the beating of three people, three residents of Jermuk were indicted.

In response to the July 23 report of the Investigative Committee that the ex-head of the Gndevaz community in 2014, through alienation, transferred to his son  a land plot that was the property of the community and in 2015 this  land was sold to Lydian Armenia CJSC at an incomparably high price,  made a response statement.

Lydian International Limited announced today, March 19, that the Government of the Republic of Armenia had begun an independent assessment of the environmental impact of the Amulsar Gold project on water resources, geology, biodiversity and water quality. It is reported GLOBE NEWSWIRE.In September 2018, the Armenian government already commissioned an assessment of the possible consequences of the Amulsar Gold project in terms of water resources. 

ArmInfo.The Investigation Committee of Armenia will receive $ 396,000 from the Reserve Fund of the Government to conduct research in the area of the Amulsar field.  The decision was taken at the February 21 meeting of the RA government.

ArmInfo.The Armenian government bears full responsibility for the deterioration of the environment, water and air in the Amulsar field in case any  environmental problem occurs. This is stated in the warning of  "Lydian" company received by the ArmInfo.

ArmInfo. Due to the illegal blockade of roads leading to the Amulsar deposit, over the past 6 months, 1,300 people (of whom 460 are residents of communities  surrounding the mine) were employed by Lydian, and its contracting  companies lost their jobs.
