ArmInfo.The Armenian government will never take steps that could harm the citizens, country and  nature. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of  Armenia Alen Simonyan stated this to journalists on August 12,  speaking about the situation around the project for the development  of this mine.

ArmInfo. The government has no  right to have such a vague position on Amulsar, Inga Zarafyan, head  of EcoLur NGO, stated this in an interview with Arminfo.

ArmInfo.  For the fourth day, actions  against the development of the Amulsar gold mine continue. As  activist of the movement Gohar Hunanyan said in an interview with  ArmInfo correspondent, the situation is relatively calm today.

ArmInfo.  The Lydian Armenia's  cabins, which caused the mass protests, have been dismantled.  The  activists greeted with applause the dismantling the cabins by the  Lydian Armenia's security service, the 

ArmInfo.  Executive Director of  Lydian Armenia Hayk Aloyan sent an official letter to the head of  Jermuk community Vardan Hovhannisyan in connection with the situation  around the dismantling of the cabins, the press service of the  company reports.

ArmInfo. On August 7, in the  afternoon, the process of dismantling the cabins of the Lydian  Armenia company, engaged in the Amulsar field project, will be  dismantled.

ArmInfo. Human rights  activists Ara Karagezyan and Nina Karapetyants, as well as other  citizens who oppose the exploitation of the Amulsar mine, were  detained  near the government building.  

ArmInfo.Yesterday, late in the evening, representatives of the Ombudsman's office met with the detained protesters near the Amulsar field.

ArmInfo.Wheelhouses of activists, who oppose the development of the Amulsar field, have been  dismantled. As reported by the "Armenian Environmental Front", the actions were carried out by the new security service of the mining company "Lydian Armenia" - the organization "Special Security Service", which installed its own houses instead of the houses of the activists.

ArmInfo.Yesterday a group of people illegally blocking the roads leading to the gold mine Amulsar, has raised another wave of noise and misinformation in line with the  lawlessness of the past two years. This is stated in the statement of  the "Lydian Armenia" company, which is building the mine.

ArmInfo."Lydian Armenia" company informs that on July 24 the company started inventory work. 

ArmInfo.Lydian received an  environmental benchmarking act confirming the unlawful invasion of  company-owned territory. This was reported by the Lydian press  service.

ArmInfo.23 residents of settlements near the Amulsar field, through an independent IPAM accountability mechanism, appealed to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to withdraw from the Amulsar  project. The statement was joined by the international network CEE  BankWatch, NGO "Ekolur", NGO "Forest of Armenia", NGO "Green Armenia"  and the civic initiative "Armenian Environmental Front".

ArmInfo. On March 11, as part of the "YES" campaign for the constitutional referendum scheduled for April 5, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Jermuk residents who had blocked the road to the Amulsar field.

ArmInfo.Employees of the Lydian Armenia company, which was developing the Amulsar gold deposit development project, decided to file lawsuits against the government,  the company's representative Liana Hovsepyan said at a news  conference in Yerevan on March 10.

ArmInfo. During the development of  the Amulsar mine, the results of the 1952-1954 expedition were not taken into account. Minister of Environment of Armenia Erik  Grigoryan  stated on April 9 at a meeting of Inquiry Committee for  Studying the legality validity and reliability of financial and other  reports submitted to the bodies of executive power and adopted by  them in the framework of investment programs in the area of  industrial metal mining.

The US approach to the Amulsar field is to ensure fair treatment for this project. The US Ambassador to Armenia Lynn Tracy said this in an interview  with Civilnet, referring to the situation around the gold deposit.   "I also emphasize the need for transparent and predictable rules, as  well as the need for predictability of adoption decisions. In the  end, these are situations that foreign investors will closely monitor  in order to determine the attitude towards foreign investors in the  republic in terms of transparency and justice, "the diplomat said.

ArmInfo.  The claim to  invalidate the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) under the  Amulsar gold mine development program was rejected by the  Administrative Court of Armenia. This is stated in the comments of  the Lidian Armenia company developing the field.

ArmInfo. Lydian International has responded to a decision by the Ministry of the Environment to limit the use of the Darb River waters in the development of the  Amulsar gold mine.
