ArmInfo.  The traitor who surrendered Artsakh, part of the sovereign territory of Armenia and ruined the lives of several thousand Armenians, is trying to hold on to power by deceiving the people with promises of peace, democracy,  justice and movement towards Europe.  This was written on his  Facebook page by Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the opposition  faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, a  representative of the Supreme Body of the ARF.

ArmInfo.  Burning the flag of another state is not a sign of a strong spirit, it is a sign of poverty, defeat and humiliation. Vice-chairman of the Armenian  National Congress party Levon Zurabyan wrote about this on his  Facebook account.

ArmInfo.  Recently, the Azerbaijani armed forces have been firing indiscriminately every night, usually from 22:30 to about 6:30 in the morning, in the direction of Armenian settlements in the Syunik region. This is  stated in a statement by the Tatoyan Foundation.

ArmInfo.The Europeans, particularly the French, are interested in maintaining regional tensions to achieve their own geopolitical goals in the South Caucasus. This was stated by the official representative of the  Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during a weekly briefing on April 17, touching upon French activity in the South Caucasus.

ArmInfo.  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan, visited the administrative complex of the newly built Patrol Service and Operations Department Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

ArmInfo.  The claims made by the Armenian authorities regarding the alleged indiscriminate shooting by Azerbaijani armed forces are, at the very least, a  blatant lie, as stated by Anna Grigoryan, a member of the RA National  Assembly from the opposition faction "Armenia", in a conversation  with journalists on April 14.

ArmInfo. Foreign producers who decide to shoot a film in Armenia will be able to get back up to 25% of the production costs incurred. And if the film promotes a positive image of the Republic of Armenia - even 35%. The initiative of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MECS) was approved at the Cabinet meeting on April 10.

ArmInfo. On March 27, Seyran Ohanyan the former Minister of Defense of Armenia and head of the Hayastan bloc, spoke to journalists in parliament about the recent  shooting  in border villages. He noted that the RA Defense Ministry  is concealing the truth.  According to Ohanyan, the Armenian  authorities are constantly facing pressure from Baku. However, the  authorities need this document for domestic political purposes.  Meanwhile, Baku is trying to prolong the process to gain maximum  dividends.

ArmInfo. By violating the ceasefire, Azerbaijan is undermining the peace agenda with Armenia, as it does not want to sign a "peace treaty." Narek Ghahramanyan, a  member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract faction, made  this statement in a conversation with journalists in the Armenian  parliament on March 26, while commenting on the growing number of  incidents on the border.

ArmInfo. The political behavior of the Armenian authorities is pushing Azerbaijan to a new adventure. This opinion was expressed on his Facebook page by Tigran Abrahamyan,  a member of the Armenian parliament from the opposition faction With  Honor, touching upon the increased frequency of shots along the  Armenian-Azerbaijani border in recent days.

ArmInfo. The Ministry of  Defense reports that shots not aimed at Armenian territory are  sometimes recorded along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The  ministry issued such a statement in response to the spread of various  publications and videos on the Internet about different sections of  the border zone, <In such cases, the Armenian Defense Ministry does  not disseminate messages about the violation of the ceasefire,> the  Defense Ministry noted in a statement.

ArmInfo. Baku nervously reacts  to any proposal from Yerevan and continues to impose new conditions  for the normalization of relations. Following baseless accusations  from the Azerbaijani side regarding a ceasefire violation, the office  of the Prime Minister of Armenia has once again suggested  Baku to  create a mechanism for investigating the incident, and noted that  Azerbaijan failed to provide any evidence of the alleged  ceasefire  violation.

ArmInfo. On March 17, RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan assured journalists that there are no risky points for Armenia in the peace agreement. <All the points there are bilateral. If you say that there is a risky point, then it is equally risky for Azerbaijan,> he said.  When asked when the text of the peace agreement will be published, the NA Speaker said: <Part of the document is already known at the level of talk. Then, we are dealing with a party that, to put it simply, needs a reason  everywhere to announce something and create problems in some way. When we determine the time and logic to publicize and the moment comes, we will publish it. The question is not whether Azerbaijan will publish, then us.>

ArmInfo. The Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, believes that the recent statements by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry do not indicate the  failure of the peace treaty. On March 17, during a conversation with  journalists in the National Assembly, when asked whether the purpose  of spreading Azerbaijani disinformation about the shootings on the  border is an attempt to delay the process of signing the peace  treaty, Simonyan noted: <<In my opinion this is being done to justify  the statement of the President of Azerbaijan, who claimed that trust  in the Armenian side is close to zero. I find this surprising,  especially considering that the publication that our, so to speak,  work and style of work are agreed upon in the same treaty says the  opposite. Not to mention that our opposition colleagues and opponents  accuse us of the opposite, they say: you, in general, do everything  that the President of Azerbaijan says. Now it turns out that the  President of Azerbaijan is refuting our opposition, making such  accusations against us>.

ArmInfo. Today, Alen Simonayn, Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, tried to mitigate the negative effect of his words by clarifying that his comments  yesterday were aimed at specific individuals and not the entire  people of Artsakh.

This was stated to journalists in Yerevan on December 11 by leading research fellow at the Institute of  International Studies at MGIMO, Russian Foreign Ministry, and  editor-in-chief of the International Analytics magazine Sergey  Markedonov.

ArmInfo. Failure to pass  certification by police officers will result in their dismissal, as  stated by Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan at the  hearings in the Armenian parliament on November 4, addressing the  challenges that municipal police encounter when passing shooting  certification.  As Sargsyan explained, the police certification  system includes several mandatory stages for all employees.   According to her, these stages were not randomly selected: but are  necessary for conducting an objective assessment of the employees'  potential.

ArmInfo. The signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan is unlikely due to the asymmetry in the negotiation process. This was stated in an interview with an ArmInfo correspondent by political scientist and director of the Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan. In this regard, he  emphasized that peace is not just the absence of war and the signing  of a peace treaty is unlikely to significantly change the situation  or provide Armenia with greater security. 

ArmInfo.A group of citizens attacked members of the cultural event "Earth and Water -2"  initiative group, including the famous pianist Tigran Hamasyan, at the crossroads of Alagyaz-Artik.  The organizing committee of the event stated that the initiative group went to Aragats on August 29,  with the aim of organizing a festival at the foot of mount Aragats  and to film a concert in the field.  

ArmInfo.EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) was launched by the decision of EU Foreign Affairs Council on  20 February 2023, when it also started its operational activities.  EUMA is tasked with observing and reporting on the situation on the ground, contributing to human security in conflict-affected areas and supporting the confidence building between Armenia and Azerbaijan, where possible. EUMA is an essential component of the EU's efforts in supporting peace and stability in the region.
