ArmInfo.Any reports on shootings on the border are disturbing.  Toivo Klaar, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, told the RFE/RL Armenian Service as he commented on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border tensions amid last week's Armenia-US-EU meeting in Brussels.

ArmInfo. On April 10, a shooting incident took place in the territory of the village of Nerkin Khndzoresk near the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border.

ArmInfo.The Armenian government is demonstratively breaking ties with Russia, Konstantin  Zatulin, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, told RIA Novosti, commenting on Yerevan's intentions to replace Russian border guards at Zvartnots airport with Armenian border troops.

The European Union supports a sustainable and lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, so the efforts towards the normalization of relations between the two countries need to continue fasterú European Commission's lead spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy Peter Stano stated.

Former Armenian Ombudsman, head of the Tatoyan Foundation Arman Tatoyan sharply criticized today's statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a government meeting regarding the fact that any Armenian soldier who violates the order not to respond to the Azerbaijani provocation will be held legally accountable.

The Russian side has always called on both participants in the Armenian-Azerbaijani  settlement to show maximum restraint on the line of contact.  Russian Deputy FM Mikhail Galuzin stated in an interview with Izvestia, in response to a question as to how the latest incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border will affect the process of discussing a peace treaty.
