ArmInfo.  The legal team of Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the Mother Armenia party and number two on the Prosperous Armenia party's electoral list, has filed an appeal  to a higher court against the first-instance court's decision to  detain him for two months, which was overturned by the Criminal Court  of Appeals. This was announced in a post by the Mother Armenia party  on Facebook.

ArmInfo. Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the "Mother Armenia" party, who is currently under arrest, has filed a defamation lawsuit against National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan.

ArmInfo.  The lawyers for the family of former Yerevan Mayor and former Minister of Transport and Communications Gagik Khachatryan issued a statement expressing  concern about the political persecution of Khachatryan and his family  members, which, they say, gained momentum just two days before the  upcoming National Assembly elections and continues to this day.

ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia has disclosed the reasons for the detention of Colonel Edik Maloyan, a veteran of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and holder of the Order of the Combat Cross, 1st Class.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian Court of General Jurisdiction for Criminal Cases found lawyer Alexander Kochubaev guilty of disseminating information defaming the honor and  dignity of judicial and investigative officials. This was reported on  his Facebook page by Alexander Kochubaev's lawyer, Erik Aleksanyan.

ArmInfo.  Armenia plans to introduce re-medical examinations for conscripts previously found unfit for compulsory military service.

ArmInfo. While the Constitutional Court continues to intensively work on lawsuits filed  by seven political forces to invalidate the parliamentary election  results, the ruling Civil Contract party is resolving issues related  to its positions. This was stated by lawyer Aram Vardevanyan,  representing the interests of the opposition "Strong Armenia" bloc in  the Constitutional Court, at a court hearing on July 1.

ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal case in connection with the shooting in Vanadzor by a contract serviceman of the RA Ministry of Defense. This was reported by Investigative Committee spokesperson Kima Avdalyan.

ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports the completion of the preliminary investigation into the murder of Robert Stepanyan, the father of  well-known crime boss Rustam Stepanyan, nicknamed "Chakh Rustam."

ArmInfo.On June 29, at approximately 4:50 AM, the 112 operations center of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report of a car fire on the Yerevan-  Yeraskh highway near the village of Surenavan.

ArmInfo. Vardan Ghukasyan, the mayor of Gyumri, who is currently under arrest, will face another charge of obstructing an official from performing his  official duties.

The Court of Cassation of Armenia has refused to accept a complaint filed by Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan regarding a case involving the  detention of clergy from the Aragatsotn Diocese of the Armenian  Apostolic Church (AAC), obstruction of lawyers' activities, and   concealment of the detention of the head of the diocese, Bishop  Mkrtich Proshyan.

The Prosecutor General's Office has sent a petition to the Central Electoral Commission to strip the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan, of his immunity and to permit the opening of a criminal case against him. This information was confirmed by the oversight authority.

ArmInfo. During the electoral processes in Armenia, criminal proceedings were opened against 258 people, meaning more than 200 people were in the status of defendants.

ArmInfo. A criminal case against Karapet Guloyan, son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, has been sent to the competent court of  Armenia. This was reported in a statement by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia, which  clarified that the supervising prosecutor approved the indictment.

The defense of the second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, would like to receive from the Central Electoral Commission clear justifications for its decision to approve the criminal prosecution of former President and leader of the opposition bloc "Armenia" Robert Kocharyan.

ArmInfo.Early this morning, Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the "Hayakve" movement and public and political activist, was detained on yet another fabricated criminal case. This was stated in the movement's Facebook post. The  initiative did not provide any further details regarding the reasons  for the detention.

ArmInfo.The search conducted by Armenian law enforcement is yet another illegal trial and an example of political persecution. Thus, in a conversation with journalists, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the Supreme Body of the  Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF Dashnaktsutyun) and a member  of parliament from the opposition Armenia faction, commented on the  search of his home early in the morning of June 23.

ArmInfo.Fifty members of the intelligentsia in Armenia have issued a joint statement in defense of Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the Mother Armenia party and the second-ranking member of parliament for the Prosperous Armenia Party  (PAP), and all political prisoners in the country.
