Pashinyan noted that his optimism stems from recent face-to-face meetings with citizens during a month-long internal party campaign.  He argued that after a "thousand-year search," it is "historically impossible" for the people to abandon the path of development in favor of a "survival agenda" just as the goal is within reach.
