ArmInfo. In the border villages of Yeghegis and Gomk in the Vayots Dzor region, two schools were built, each designed for fewer than 100 students, and the authorities plan to close them. Opposition leader and public figure Edgar Ghazaryan announced this in a video message on his Facebook page, noting that a total of 16 such schools in the region are slated for closure.

ArmInfo.  US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's visit to Armenia is part of an election campaign aimed at taking control of the Iranian border and once again hurting Russia. This opinion was expressed by Robert Kocharyan, the second president of Armenia and leader of the "Armenia" bloc, in a  conversation with journalists during a campaign stop in Armenia's  Vayots Dzor region.

ArmInfo.  On March 5, 2025, the RA Prosecutor General's Office, within its authority to initiate proceedings to protect state interests, filed a lawsuit with the Anti- Corruption Court against the Vayk community, demanding that the  auction of May 6, 2006, be declared invalid.

ArmInfo. The now-traditional Gata Festival will be held on September 20 in the  village of Khachik in the Vayots Dzor region. The festival aims to  boost the socio-economic development of  Khachik, improve the  residents' standard of living, and promote the village as a tourist  destination.

ArmInfo. In Armenia, an application will be developed to include the site "Areni-1 Cave and Adjacent Wine Landscape" of the Vayots Dzor region in the preliminary list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. ArmInfo. In 2024, specialists of the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise in Armenia demined and cleared 91,948 square meters of hazardous territory from explosive ordnance. This is stated in the report of the Center, which  summed up the results of the work last year.

ArmInfo. This year, 15 historical and cultural sites located in Yerevan and various regions of the country have received the status of monument. This was reported during the 5th meeting of the expert commission of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MESC) of Armenia.

Moreover, in practical terms, everything started in Jermuk, and theoretically, the beginning was laid during the meeting in Brussels two weeks before , political scientist Hakob Badalyan wrote on his social media account. 

ArmInfo. Training courses for internally displaced persons from Artsakh are being organized in the Ararat and Vayots Dzor regions of Armenia. As the head of the program Astghik Avetisyan noted, refugees from Artsakh are deprived of the  opportunity to influence decision- making processes.

ArmInfo. The Chairman of the RA National Assembly Alen Simonyan is currently on a working visit to the Vayots Dzor region.  "I visited Jermuk and had the opportunity to learn about the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, local security challenges and issues impacting our fellow citizens," the speaker wrote on his Facebook page, along with relevant photos.  Prior to Jermuk, Simonyan also visited the Noravank monastery complex.
