ArmInfo. Thirteen suspects in an Armenian organized crime ring have been arrested in the US, as reported by ABC News.

ArmInfo. Western-oriented political forces advocating for Armenia's accession to the European Union staged a Russophobic action against the backdrop of the  upcoming visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Yerevan.  From early morning, they unfurled Russophobic posters in front of the  Russian Embassy in Yerevan and on the capital's Kiev Bridge.

ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities are tightening the liability for reservists or individuals liable for military service who avoid attending training camps. The initiative of the Ministry of Defense to define forms of evasion of citizens  from training camps, clarify the qualification of the act and tighten  the liability for the committed act in conjunction with a number of  circumstances, as well as clarify the responsibilities and authority  of the military police was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on  May 15 at a regular meeting.

ArmInfo.The assault of a citizen at a police station is another example of impunity, as not a single  police officer has been punished for it yet. This was stated by lawyer Ara Karagyozyan at a press conference in Yerevan on May 12, touching upon the violence used by police officers against detained citizen Sergey Abrahamyan.

ArmInfo.  The Investigative Committee of Armenia did not find it necessary to pursue criminal prosecution against the police officers who used violence against the young activist Tigran Ulubabyan. The head of the department, Artur Poghosyan, made this announcement in the parliament on May 12.

ArmInfo. The head of the Shirak regional department of the main criminal police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, police colonel Karen Gevorgyan threatened journalist Lilit Aghekyan during her personal  search, emphasizing that he will not forget that she is the only  journalist who criticized his activities. This is reported by the  journalist's lawyer Zaruhi Postanjyan.

ArmInfo.  The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia proposes to eliminate the age restriction for the police service. The draft law was approved by the RA Government at its regular session on May 8.

ArmInfo.  The car of the family of Gevorg Stepanyan, a member of the Mother Armenia faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders, was burned. It was parked in the yard of his house. This is stated in a statement received by ArmInfo by the leader of the Mother Armenia faction Andranik Tevanyan.

ArmInfo. Neo-Nazis from the "Russian Community" movement broke into an apartment in the Leningrad Region, after which a fire broke out, resulting in the death of an Armenian citizen and a girl being injured. This information was reported by the "Fontanka" publication.

ArmInfo.  Criminal liability measures for drug trafficking will be seriously tightened in Armenia. The amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia submitted by the NA deputy from the ruling Civil Contract faction  Hayk Sargsyan are being discussed at the meeting of the RA National  Assembly Committee on State and Legal Affairs on May 5.

ArmInfo.  Drugs worth at least 200 million drams were found in the luggage of a 52-year-old man who arrived in Yerevan from Athens. The man has been detained, the press service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

ArmInfo.These are hooligans, a dirty and predatory government.  Blogger Artur Chakhoyan, who was  beaten by the head of the Nor Nork district, told journalists about this on April 30 before being taken to the hospital.  "They attacked me, sorry, my head hurts, this is a real dirty government. I am a victim, they detained me," Chakhoyan said.

ArmInfo. Armenia's Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan has responded to the incident involving the  beating of activist Artur Chakhoyan by the head of the Nor-Nork administrative district of Yerevan, Tigran Ter-Margaryan, and other officials, stating that the perpetrators must be held accountable.
