ArmInfo. The decision by the court of first instance to arrest National Assembly deputy Artur Sargsyan will definitely be appealed, as stated by lawyer Smbat Minasyan in a conversation with journalists.

ArmInfo. As expected, the Yerevan court  has arrested Artur Sargsyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition faction "Armenia", for 2 months.  The court has granted the petition of the RA Prosecutor General's Office.

ArmInfo. The court session considering the issue of applying a preventive measure in the form of arrest to MP Artur Sargsyan, has ended.  In an interview with journalists, lawyer Smbat Minasyan said that the court has retired to a deliberation room, and the decision is expected to be announced in 2-3 hours. The lawyer questioned why the case was heard in the Avan administrative district court instead of the Ajapnyak district court.  This issue, as the lawyer emphasized, was raised during the trial. A motion was even made to change the judge, which, however, was rejected. The court's justification indicated that all Yerevan courts were involved in considering such motions. During the court session, issues related to the grounds for detaining Artur Sargsyan and the reasons for his arrest were considered.

ArmInfo.  Initially, the legitimate actions of the opposition were secretly wiretapped by law enforcement officers because any political process in Armenia is now subject to  direct interference from the state apparatus, as stated by Hovhannes  Khudoyan, lawyer for the leader of the Sacred Struggle movement,  Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, during a press conference in Yerevan on  July 9, in reference  to the detentions of opposition figures in the  country.

ArmInfo.  A draft amendment to the Criminal Code regarding the obstruction of medical workers' legal professional activities has been submitted to the National Assembly  of the Republic of Armenia. Chairman of the NA Committee on  Healthcare Arsen Torosyan shared this information on his Facebook  page.

ArmInfo.  On July 7, RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan requested the country's parliament to approve the initiation of criminal proceedings against  Artur Sargsyan, a member of the National Assembly, in accordance with  the Constitutional Law "On the Rules of Procedure of the National  Assembly".

ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities, instead of confronting external threats, have concentrated their main resources on domestic  political issues in order to ensure their comfort and prolong their existence. This was stated by Tigran  Abrahamyan, a member of parliament from the opposition faction "I  have the honor", at an extraordinary session of the National Assembly  on July 7, where a motion to strip three opposition MPs of their  immunity was being considered.
