ArmInfo.  Member of the National Assembly Lusine Badalyan, representing the ruling Civil Contract faction, has been nominated to head the parliamentary standing committee on healthcare.  Badalyan herself announced this to journalists on July 29.

ArmInfo.  Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan, even before assuming his duties as Speaker of the Parliament, has already decided to restrict  the professional activities of the media in the country's legislative  body. Marianna Ghahramanyan, press secretary of the "Strong Armenia"  bloc, announced this on her Facebook page.

ArmInfo. Hayk Konjoryan, head of the ruling "Civil Contract" faction in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia of the eighth convocation, has announced the launch of a criminal investigation into the beating of his  brother. He also stated that he will file lawsuits against anyone who  spreads false information or slanders him in connection with this  incident.

ArmInfo. On July 21, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia hosted a mandate-presentation ceremony for deputies of the country's  9th-convocation parliament, which was formed following the regular  parliamentary elections held on June 7.

ArmInfo. The Armenian government adopted a draft law ratifying the Framework Agreement on  Strategic Partnership for the Implementation of TRIPP (Trump Route  for International Peace and Prosperity). This decision was approved  at a government meeting on July 16.

ArmInfo. Human rights activist Hovhannes Ishkhanyan announced the creation of a working group aimed at repealing the residency requirement for participation in elections  in Armenia, calling the legislative changes "an electoral outcast."

ArmInfo.The European Union is not exerting sufficient pressure on Azerbaijan to secure the release of Armenian captives, as stated by Armen Ishkhanyan, son of  the former Chairman of the National Assembly of Artsakh, David  Ishkhanyan, during a conference in Brussels titled " Armenian  Prisoners in Azerbaijan and the Imperative of European Union  Engagement".

ArmInfo.  On the instruction of Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan, staff from her  office visited the Abovyan Penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice,  where they held meetings with several individuals, including Aregnaz  Manukyan, a member of the 8th convocation of National Assembly of  Armenia and a board member of the "Mother Armenia" party.

ArmInfo.  Armenian Ambassador to Albania Tigran Mkrtchyan (residence in Athens) and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Albanian Parliament, former Foreign Minister Igli Hasani, discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations between Armenia and Albania,  establishing interparliamentary ties, and developing new cooperation  formats.

ArmInfo.  Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has filed lawsuits against former National Assembly deputies Sofia Hovsepyan and Edmon Marukyan. The Prime Minister is demanding public apologies and the retraction of statements he characterizes as insulting and defamatory.
