ArmInfo.Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, Chief of the General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces, assesses  the situation on the border as relatively stable.

ArmInfo.  I find the social stratification in the country, which may be related, among other things, to constitutional obligations, to be unacceptable. This is  the viewpoint of Ombudsperson Anahit Manasyan's on the draft law  regarding the buyout of military service, proposed by ruling Civil  Contract faction MP Hayk Sargsyan and approved by the government. She  made this comment during a briefing at the request of journalists. 

ArmInfo. The discussion of the issue of buying out service in the Armenian Armed Forces has been  postponed indefinitely. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Committee Armen Khachatryan on Defense and Security Issues on May 26 at a meeting of the RA National Assembly Committee on Defense and  Security, speaking about the draft amendments to the law "On Military Service and the Status of a Serviceman".

ArmInfo. . One of the reasons for Armenian citizens to evade military service is the death of servicemen in non-combat conditions. Human rights activist of the  Vanadzor office of the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Nazeli Movsesyan  shares this point of view. Speaking at a press conference on May 21,  she noted that in 2024 alone, out of 40 registered cases of death in  the Armed Forces, only 4 were the result of ceasefire violations by  the Azerbaijani side. Statistics for the past five years also show  that 75-80 percent of cases are deaths in non-combat conditions. All  these cases are well known to both conscripts and their parents, who  are trying to avoid service in the Armed Forces by any means  possible.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied yet another enemy disinformation about the ceasefire violation.

ArmInfo.  In 2024, the courts of Armenia satisfied only 11.3% of the cassation appeals of the Prosecutor General and his deputies. This was stated by the  Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan at the  plenary session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia  on May 8, presenting a report on the activities of the supervisory  body last year. 

ArmInfo. The results of the certification of servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces cannot but cause concern. This was written on his Facebook page by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of  Armenia from the opposition faction With Honor.

ArmInfo. Slovenia has supported the final proposal to provide assistance to Armenia through the European Peace Facility as stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European  and Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat  Mirzoyan following their talks in Yerevan.

ArmInfo. Special coefficients will be applied when calculating the salaries of contract sergeants  of the Armenian Armed Forces. At its session on April 14, the RA National Assembly Committee on Defense and Security gave a positive opinion on the amendments to the law "On the remuneration of persons holding state positions and civil service positions" submitted by the  government in the first reading.

ArmInfo.  The statement issued by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, alleging that on April 10, at approximately 8:55 p.m., units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire towards Azerbaijani combat positions located in the northeastern section of the border, does not correspond to reality.

ArmInfo.  Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan considers Artsakh an instrument of control over the country, a kind of noose around Armenia's neck. This was written on his Facebook page by Artur Khachatryan, a member of the National Assembly from the opposition faction "Armenia".

ArmInfo. The statement issued by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, alleging that from the evening of April 6 until 4:30 a.m. on April 7 units of the Armenian Armed Forces  opened fire on Azerbaijani combat positions located in the eastern  and southeastern sections of the border, does not correspond to  reality.

ArmInfo. The statement issued by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, alleging that units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire on Azerbaijani combat positions in  the eastern and southeastern sectors of the border on the evening of March 29 and the morning of March 30, does not correspond to reality.     It should be recalled the Office of the Prime Minister of the  Republic of Armenia has proposed the establishment of a joint  Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations  and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this  initiative.  

ArmInfo. A peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan sounds very good, but in reality, so far, we have managed to complete the draft of the agreement. This was stated by RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in an interview with Correio Braziliense, one of the major daily newspapers published in Brazilia.

ArmInfo. Shots are being fired from the Azerbaijani side, but they are often not targeting the positions of the Armenian armed forces, as stated by RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan during the government hour in the National Assembly on March 26, while responding to a question from NA MP Hasmik Hakobyan.  The MP, in particular, asked if the publications and videos on social networks about the shelling of Armenian territory correspond to reality.

ArmInfo. Azerbaijan's goal is not to sign any agreement with Armenia, but to create the illusion of unpreparedness for normalization of relations with the international  community through its disinformation campaign. Thus, Baku is  preparing for another aggression. Armen Petrosyan, an expert at the  Orbeli Center, stated this during a press conference in Yerevan on  March 24.

ArmInfo. Member of the National Assembly of Armenia from the opposition faction "Armenia" Ishkhan Saghatelyan presented the main concessions made unilaterally during  the negotiations with Azerbaijan under the Prime Minister of Armenia  Nikol Pashinyan. The Dashnaktsakan made a corresponding statement  after the Armenian Prime Minister's statements in an interview with  the country's Public Television that the Armenian government did not  make any unilateral concessions during the negotiations with  Azerbaijan.
