ArmInfo. Deputy Minister of Health of Armenia, Artak Jumayan, and First Vice Mayor of Marseille, Michele Rubirola, reached an agreement to establish cooperation between medical institutions in both countries in the fields of maternal and reproductive health, public health, and emergency preparedness.

ArmInfo. Criminal proceedings, including potential prosecution, cannot be ruled out in the case of abuses in the ANIF fund. This statement was made by Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan in the National Assembly  on May 8.

ArmInfo.  Unfortunately, the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia does not have intelligence data on the 1,160 missing persons in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, causing mistrust among their relatives. Long-awaited bill with shortcomings," by Artur  Sakunts, head of the Vanadzor office of the Helsinki Citizens'  Assembly (HCA). 

ArmInfo.  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present at the farewell ceremony for former NAS President, Academician Radik Martirosyan at the National Academy of Sciences and honored his memory, as reported by the Prime Minister's press service. 

ArmInfo.  Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan categorically disagrees with the claims of the government opponents that Armenia is sliding towards totalitarianism.  In a conversation with journalists on May 8, the speaker recalled that the country was ranked 34th place in the world ranking of freedom of expression. "Totalitarianism and  freedom of speech are incompatible, this cannot be," Simonyan noted.

ArmInfo. At Yerevan School N8, named after Pushkin, teachers and students are protesting against the dismissal of the institution's director, Natalya Stepanyan.  According to posts on Armenian social media, it became known that this morning  Stepanyan has been removed from her position as the  school's director. Both the teachers and students, along with parents  are opposed to this decision. The school has started collecting  signatures against this decision of the Ministry of Education,  Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia. The classes at the school   were cancelled today, and students have stated that they will not  return to school until Stepanyan is reinstated.

ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Friedrich Merz on assuming  office.  The message, as reported by the press service of the Prime Minister, reads: <I cordially congratulate you on the occasion of  assuming  office as Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.   Germany is Armenia's reliable partner  and the Government of the  Republic of Armenia attaches great importance to the continuous  development of multi-sectoral cooperation with it.

ArmInfo.  The behavior of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the threats he made against opposition MPs raise doubts about the legitimacy of his continued stay in power, as noted in a statement by the " Five Human Rights Defenders Initiative " following a recent scandal on May 7, 2025 in  the National Assembly of Armenia. During a discussion on corruption  and impunity, the Prime Minister lost his temper and threatened to  send the opposition to the basements of the National Security  Service. Human rights activists have expressed their concerns about  Pashinyan's behavior, describing it as unnatural, anti-democratic,  and extremely dangerous. The initiative pointed out that such  statements, along with Pashinyan's unpredictable behavior, sever his  connection to legal obligations. "There are, apparently, issues with  the prime minister's mental health, raising doubts about the legality  of his ongoing tenure," the lawyers concluded.  

ArmInfo.  The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, in collaboration with the investigative bodies, is actively working to improve  the efficiency of combating corruption, as stated by the head of the supervisory body, Anna Vardapetyan, in the National Assembly on May 8.
