ArmInfo. The news outlet News.am has accused the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, of slander. On June 17 of this year, the publication filed  a civil lawsuit against the head of the Parliament for a post on his  Facebook page (May 17, 2025), where he referred to several  media  representatives (News.am, Yerevan Today, Politic.am and Channel 5) as  being controlled by the second President of Armenia, Robert  Kocharyan.

This was stated by  Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani at a press conference in Yerevan on June 17.  According to him, Tehran also highly appreciates  the support of the Armenian people. "We feel the spiritual support of the Armenian people. Long live Armenia, long live Iran," the diplomat said.

ArmInfo. No one is detained without reason. Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan told  journalists on June 17, responding to  question regarding the detention of the Armenian-Russian businessman, well-known philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan.
