ArmInfo. On May 28th, AraratBank proudly supported the "What? Where? When?" intellectual charity quiz organized by the 4090 Charity Foundation at Elite Plaza business center. AraratBank's team of intellectuals took part in the quiz alongside other participants.

ArmInfo.  National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan touched upon the reasons for postponing the discussion of the legislative initiative on legal "buy-off" from the army. As Simonyan stated in a conversation with journalists on May 27, the ultimate goal of the authorities is to create a professional army.

ArmInfo.  The bulk of the amount stolen from the fireproof safe of the Investigative Committee of Armenia - $578.8 thousand - has been found. The defendants in the case have already confessed.

The Committee for the Preservation of Artsakh called on the UN Security Council, the EU,  the OSCE, the US and Russia to impose targeted economic and visa sanctions against Azerbaijani officials responsible for organizing the legal farce against the military- political leadership of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

ArmInfo. The discussion of the issue of buying out service in the Armenian Armed Forces has been  postponed indefinitely. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Committee Armen Khachatryan on Defense and Security Issues on May 26 at a meeting of the RA National Assembly Committee on Defense and  Security, speaking about the draft amendments to the law "On Military Service and the Status of a Serviceman".

ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia reports the disclosure of a case of theft of 590  thousand dollars from the building of the Investigative Committee (IC).

ArmInfo. This year the festival <Crossroads:  Contemporary Music Days in Armenia> will be held from May 27 to June 9.  As reported by the press service of the Festival  organizers, the program of events this year includes concert evenings  with the participation of young performers, as well as public  discussions, seminars and master classes.

ArmInfo.  On May 22, the Government of Armenia approved the Comprehensive Program of Measures in the Field of Atmospheric Air Protection for 2025-2030.

ArmInfo.  On May 22, at its regular session, the Armenian government discussed the initiative of the ruling NA faction deputy Hayk Sargsyan on the buyout  of the army, and proposed its own adjustments. 

ArmInfo. Armenia is facing serious problems related to conscription for active military service. This was stated at a press conference on May 21 by Hayk Sargsyan, a  member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the  ruling Civil Contract faction, commenting on the initiative he  presented aimed at reducing the number of draft dodgers. 

ArmInfo.  Mushegh Aramyan, an activist of the Tavush for the Motherland movement, has been acquitted. This was written on his Facebook page by the activist's  lawyer, Arsen Babayan.

ArmInfo. The Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR) has condemned the desecration and demolition of the  monument to Marshal Baghramyan in Stepanakert by Azerbaijanis. The Union noted that they expect due assessment from Russia in connection with such actions by the Azerbaijani side.

ArmInfo.  The City Hall will exempt citizens from paying fines for non-payment of garbage  collection, which have accumulated due to the inability to fulfill  their payment obligations through any system. The corresponding bill  was adopted on May 20 during a meeting of the Council of Elders of  the Yerevan City Hall.

ArmInfo. The Armenian Fund for Relief (FAR) will provide 16 grants to Armenian scientists to conduct scientific research in the fields of physics, biotechnology, biology,  nanotechnology, materials science, zoology, biochemistry, social  sciences and history. This is stated in a statement received by  ArmInfo from the FAR press service.

ArmInfo.  The Council of Europe Anti-Corruption Body (GRECO) in its annual report pointed out the lack of transparency in the procurement processes carried out by  high- ranking government officials in Armenia. Non-partisan member of  the National Assembly of Armenia Taguhi Tovmasyan wrote about this on  her Facebook page.

ArmInfo.  Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is afraid to engage in discussions with the leader of the Bright Armenia party Edmon Marukyan, because populism will no  longer save him. A similar point of view is shared by the  representative of the Bright Armenia party, former member of the  National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Gorgisyan.

ArmInfo.  The damage in the amount of $140,000 caused to the state and the community as a result of illegal mining in the Ararat region has been compensated, the Prosecutor  General's Office reports.

ArmInfo.  On May 19, the Greeks of Armenia mark the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Pontic Greeks. On this occasion, at 11:40 a.m., a memorial  service for the victims will be held in the St. Sarkis Church in  Yerevan. The Genocide of the Pontic and Asia Minor Greeks was carried  out along with the Genocide of the Armenians and other indigenous  peoples living in their homeland. "In the 21st century, the fate of  the victims of the Genocide of the Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians  befell the Greeks and Armenians of Artsakh. Erdogan openly stated  that it was Turkey that helped Azerbaijan occupy Artsakh: there was a  blockade, many victims and the subsequent occupation of the entire  territory, accompanied by the ethnic cleansing of Armenians. The  civilized world, like a century ago, was outraged, after which it  recognized Turkey's policy as an accomplished fact.
