ArmInfo.  The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) welcomes the April 14, 2025 decision of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Aynur Bagirzade, a California attorney who leveled unfounded accusations against the ANCA, ANCA-WR, and thirty other defendants, dismissing this action, denying remaining motions as moot and declaring the case closed.

This was announced by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Sergei Lebedev at a meeting of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, TASS reports.  "I am happy and pleased, just like you, to announce that all CIS heads of state will be  attending the celebrations in Moscow on May 9," he noted.

ArmInfo.Armenia and Lithuania signed the " Action plan for strengthening bilateral cooperation  between the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania and the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia for 2025-2026". The action plan was signed by the Chief of Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aram Hovhannisyan, and Chief Commissioner of the Lithuanian Police Arunas Paulauskas.

ArmInfo. Armenian authorities are resorting to new tricks to legitimize their illegal actions, as stated by the leader of the Mother Armenia bloc, Andranik Tevanyan, to journalists on April 14.

ArmInfo. On April 14, NA Vice-Speaker Ruben Rubinyan received the Co-Chair of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Sergey Lagodinsky.  As reported by the press service of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia,  the meeting discussed issues on enhancing collaboration between Armenia and the European Union. Ruben Rubinyan pointed out the significance of the visa liberalization process for Armenian citizens.

ArmInfo.  The claims made by the Armenian authorities regarding the alleged indiscriminate shooting by Azerbaijani armed forces are, at the very least, a  blatant lie, as stated by Anna Grigoryan, a member of the RA National  Assembly from the opposition faction "Armenia", in a conversation  with journalists on April 14.

ArmInfo.  Today the rights of the people of Artsakh are being violated, and tomorrow it could be the entire population of Armenia. This was stated by Saida Poghosyan, the chairperson of the public organization "In the Footsteps of Ancestors," at a rally outside  the Prosecutor General's Office of  Armenia on April 14.

ArmInfo.  Armenia intends to become a party to the Oviedo Convention. At April 14 sitting, the Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia issued a positive conclusion on the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Dignity of the  Human Being in the Application of Biology and Medicine (Oviedo  Convention) submitted for ratification.

ArmInfo. The Council for the Protection of the Rights of the Artsakh People demanded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia take specific measures to protect the rights of the forcibly displaced population of Artsakh.  The Council stated this on April 14 during a rally in front of the  building of the Foreign Ministry, in connection with the inaction of  the Armenian authorities in taking steps for the collective return of  the Artsakh people and the release of Armenian prisoners of war.

ArmInfo.  The deadline for the application of the Law on Enforcement Proceedings will be extended in Armenia. At its session on April 14, the Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia issued a positive opinion on the amendments to the above-mentioned law and a large package of related legislative acts submitted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the first reading.

ArmInfo. The leader of the Our City bloc list, Martun Grigoryan, and the member of the My Mighty Community party, Susanna Mkrtchyan, have refused their mandates in the Gyumri Council of Elders. This was reported by the chairman of the electoral commission of the 31st electoral district, Artur  Ghazaryan.

ArmInfo. Special coefficients will be applied when calculating the salaries of contract sergeants  of the Armenian Armed Forces. At its session on April 14, the RA National Assembly Committee on Defense and Security gave a positive opinion on the amendments to the law "On the remuneration of persons holding state positions and civil service positions" submitted by the  government in the first reading.

ArmInfo.  The Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia is conducting an internal investigation into the use of force by Patrol Service officers against a car driver who did not comply with the  demands of the police. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Internal  Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Armen Mkrtchyan at a meeting of  the RA National Assembly Committee on Defense and Security on April  14.
