RA Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sarkisyan presented the main directions of the planned cooperation with Frontex, emphasizing that the reforms are aimed at strengthening Armenia's capacity in border management, enhancing security levels, and consistently implementing advanced European experience.

ArmInfo. On July 16, a working meeting was held at the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia to discuss ongoing efforts to develop an integrated border management system within the framework of the Armenia-EU visa liberalization dialogue. The meeting was attended by representatives  of the NSS, the Office of the Security Council, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Revenue  Committee, as well as international experts.

ArmInfo.  Armenian Ambassador to Albania Tigran Mkrtchyan (residence in Athens) and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Albanian Parliament, former Foreign Minister Igli Hasani, discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations between Armenia and Albania,  establishing interparliamentary ties, and developing new cooperation  formats.

ArmInfo.The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia has completed the design of new biometric identification cards (ID cards), which, along with next-generation  biometric passports, are scheduled to be introduced in the fall of 2026.

ArmInfo. On June 29, Arpine Sargsyan, Armenia's Minister of Internal Affairs and chief negotiator for the EU-RA visa liberalization process, participated in  a roundtable discussion titled "Border Management Reforms and Border  Guard Training: Lessons from  EU Approaches," organized in  cooperation with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance  (DCAF) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Armenian Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan and Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, discussed progress in the implementation of the Armenia-EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan, as well as the progress of judicial, legal, and constitutional reforms in the country, at a meeting in Yerevan.

ArmInfo. The visa liberalization process between Armenia and the European Union (EU) will be completed  in two years at the latest. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during the election campaign in the Shirak region.

ArmInfo.Upon completion of the visa liberalization negotiations between Armenia and the EU, Yerevan and Brussels will need to convince the 27 EU member states, as well as a majority of the members of the European Parliament, that the republic is ready for this step.  Johannes Luchner, Deputy Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission, made this statement at a press conference in Yerevan on  visa liberalization between Armenia and the EU.

ArmInfo.A presentation was held in Yerevan regarding a research study on the implementation of the EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan (VLAP) in Moldova and Georgia. The study, conducted by the Policy and Management Consultancy (PMCG), details how these countries reformed their systems to comply with EU standards. It highlights that the experiences of Moldova and Georgia serve as key benchmarks for Armenia's own visa liberalization process.
