ArmInfo.Armenian authorities and  Prime Minister against  Armenian Church Yerevan, July 4, ArmInfo. The Holy Mother See of Etchmiadzin has  issued a statement. It reads, in particular:

ArmInfo. Seven journalists who raised the issue of major corruption deals in construction work in Nagorno-Karabakh have been sentenced to 7-9 years in prison in Azerbaijan. This is stated in the publication of the Scientific and Analytical Foundation GEGARD.

ArmInfo. The head of the Tashir State Corporation Samvel Karapetyan filed a lawsuit against the deputies of the ruling Civil Contract faction Arsen Torosyan and Hayk Konjoryan for offensive statements and slander. Information about  this is posted on the judicial information portal Datalex.am.

ArmInfo. The age limit for admission to the Police will be abolished in Armenia. The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, at an extraordinary session on July 2, introduced amendments to the laws "On Police Service" and "On Rescue Service" in the first reading.

ArmInfo.  Today, more than ever, Armenian society is observing European double standards, which are manifested here and there, based on narrowly opportunistic interests.  For example, yesterday the reaction of the EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko to the events in Russia caused  bewilderment. And this is in conditions when Russian law enforcement  officers, within the scope of their authority, came to members of an  organized criminal group - Russian citizens with Azerbaijani roots,  who have been terrorizing and killing their own compatriots for  decades.

ArmInfo.Within the framework of his official visit to the Kingdom of Spain, President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan delivered a speech in the UN International Conference on Financing for Development.

ArmInfo.  The Head of the RA NA delegation to OSCE PA Sargis Khandanyan gave a speech at the General Committee on Political Affairs and Security of the 32nd OSCE PA Annual Session.

On the contrary: he makes their representatives speechless, as stated by Erich Fontobel, member of the National Council of Switzerland,  commenting on the arrest of Artsakh MP David Galstyan by the Armenian authorities. 

ArmInfo.  Russian businessman of Armenian origin and head of the Tashir group of companies Samvel Karapetyan has delivered another message from the pre-trial detention center titled "What Have the Current Authorities Accomplished?" According to him, the Armenian authorities have dealt a serious blow to the moral and value system of the country that unites the nation.

ArmInfo.  Head of the European office of the ARF "Hay Dat" Dashnaktsutyun, the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) Gaspar Karapetyan called on the EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas to visit the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin during her visit to Armenia.

ArmInfo. The Association "Armenian Community of Bulgaria" is deeply concerned about the recent events in Armenia. In particular, the series of constant and systematic pressure on the Armenian Apostolic Church, as well as the arrests of church and political figures and the harsh measures  applied to them are worrying. This is stated in a statement received  by ArmInfo by the Association "Armenian Community of Bulgaria".

ArmInfo. A defense group is being formed for the head of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhian. This was reported on a social network by the rector of the Academy of Advocates Ara Zohrabyan.

ArmInfo.The Member of the RA NA delegation to PACE Vladimir Vardanyan gave a speech at PACE Summer  Session. The MP, particularly, noted in his speech:

ArmInfo.  The more the Armenian authorities put pressure on the Armenian Apostolic Church in order to neutralize it, the more the role and importance of the AAC in the  public environment will grow. Former chief adviser to the RA Prime  Minister Arsen Gasparyan told journalists on June 25.

ArmInfo. Law enforcement agencies have prevented a large and vile plan to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Armenia and seize  power.  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote about this on his  Facebook page, disseminating a message from the Investigative  Committee of Armenia.

ArmInfo.  The interference of one state in the affairs of another is an extremely dangerous phenomenon that should be avoided, as stated by Vladimir Vardanyan, a member of  parliament from the ruling Civil Contract party, while commenting on  the detention of businessman of Armenian origin and head of the  Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, during  a briefing with  journalists on June 20. 

ArmInfo. At the meeting on June 20, the Armenian government approved a program to support vulnerable families by performing paid community service by their members.
