ArmInfo. Parents of active-duty conscripts staged a protest today outside the government building, demanding equal conditions for all servicemen regarding the reduction of the mandatory military service term to one and a half  years.

ArmInfo. Suicides in the  army are primarily caused by three factors: gambling debts, family  issues, and psychological pressure exerted on a soldier after falling  asleep while on  combat on duty. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan announced this during a briefing on July 30, citing  investigative data.

ArmInfo.  The Armenian authorities have detained Sasun Badoyan, the father of a fallen serviceman and a parliamentary candidate from the "Strong Armenia" bloc, on fabricated and unlawful charges, as reported by lawyer  Tatevik Soghoyan on her Facebook page.

ArmInfo.  An Armenian court has extended the pretrial detention of Captain Yeghishe Hakobyan, a defendant in the case involving the fatal fire at a military barracks in Azat village, for an additional three months. The ruling was handed down during today's session by Judge Vardan Harutyunyan, the  Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance of the Gegharkunik  Region.  "Having heard the arguments from both sides, the court has  decided to extend the detention of the accused, Yeghishe Hakobyan,  for another three months," the judge announced during the hearing.

ArmInfo. Today, June 12, Igor Titov, Consul General of Russia in Gyumri, took part in solemn events dedicated to Russia Day at the 102nd Russian Military Base of the Order of Alexander Nevsky.

ArmInfo.  The Administrative Court of Armenia has issued an injunction prohibiting the Ministry of Defense from evicting servicemen from Artsakh  (Nagorno- Karabakh) from their allotted apartments.

ArmInfo. At its June 4 meeting, the RA Government announced the summer conscription for mandatory military service in 2026 and demobilization.

ArmInfo.Servicemen serving compulsory military service will be eligible for additional compensation upon transitioning to contract service in the Armenian  Armed Forces.  The RA government approved the compensation amounts at its meeting on May 27.

ArmInfo.A group of citizens held a protest outside the European Union office in Yerevan, urging not to turn a blind eye to political repression in the country by the Armenian authorities in the lead-up to the June parliamentary  elections.

ArmInfo. In Armenia, compulsory medical proceedings may be applied to individuals who committed a crime while insane, as well as to individuals who,  despite being sane at the time of the crime, have mental health issues. The RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs approved these amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code at its May 18 session.

ArmInfo. One of the first steps of the Wings of Unity Party, if successful in the elections, will be to resolve the army's problems. Party leader Arman Tatoyan stated this during the election campaign in the Tavush region.

The Shushi  Liberation Operation took place on these days in 1992.
