ArmInfo.  The "Wings of Tatev" cable car has won the prestigious international World Travel Awards for the fourth time, taking the title of "World's Leading  Cable Car Ride." This year, the Armenian cable car again surpassed  competitors from Bolivia, Brazil, Vietnam, Canada, New Zealand, the  USA, and South Africa. Previously, "Wings of Tatev" brought victory  to Armenia in this category in 2024, 2023, and 2021.

Trump's July 15 remarks during his White House meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte suggesting that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan may be within reach, Armenian Assembly Co-Chairs Oscar  Tatosian and Talin Yacoubian sent a letter,this week to U.S.  Secretary of State Marco Rubio calling for the release of all  Armenian hostages held by Azerbaijan, including "the political  leadership of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh)" and ensuring the right of  return.

ArmInfo. The Russian Film Festival will be held in Yerevan from April 3 to 5. During the  festival Yerevan viewers will have the opportunity to watch both the  latest releases and classic films representing Russian cinema. The  festival will take place at the Moscow Cinema. According to a message  from ROSKINO, the festival organizer, the program will feature five  films.

ArmInfo. The House of Culture of the Russian-Armenian University (RAU) hosted a screening of the film "Yasha and Leonid Brezhnev" by the head of the creative workshop of the IMRK RAU, associate professor, film director, actor, producer and screenwriter Edgar Baghdasaryan. This was reported by the press service of the RAU.

ArmInfo.The Armenian National Film Academy just chose to nominate for the 2025 Oscars a movie  titled "Yasha and Leonid Brezhnev" (directed by E. Baghdasaryan - ed.) instead of Shoghakat Vardanyan's "1489", which tells about the grave consequences of the Artsakh war. This was  stated in an article  by the newspaper's publisher Harut Sassounian in The California Courier.

The  Union of Cinematographers of Armenia, with the financial support of the European Union, announced the start of the European Film Month in Yerevan, which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Surrealist Manifesto, written by the French writer and poet Andre Breton; in 1924.

ArmInfo. Jordan has selected the documentary film "My Sweet land" by Jordanian Armenian director Sarin Hayrapetyan, which is about Artsakh, to compete in the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards.  The film tells the story of 11-year-old Vrezh, who dreams of becoming a dentist in his native Nagorno- Karabakh (Artsakh). When the war begins, the situation escalates and he and his family are forced to flee.

ArmInfo. During the closing ceremony of the 21st Golden Apricot International Film Festival, its  founder Harutyun Khachatryan presented the Thaler Parajanov Award for his contribution to world cinema to Oscar-winning American director Alexander Payne.

ArmInfo. 21st Golden Apricot International Film Festival annually awards outstanding film figures  with the Thaler Parajanov Prize, which is awarded for their contribution to world cinema. During the closing ceremony of the film festival, which took place on July 13 at the House of Cinema, the Yerevan Film Award was awarded to the outstanding Iranian director, representative of the "new wave" of Iranian cinema, Jafar Panahi.
