ArmInfo. A regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons was held under the chairmanship of Andranik Simonyan, Director of the National Security Service of Armenia. ArmInfo. Even under the threat of arrest, criminal prosecution, or political pressure, the second president of Armenia, leader of the "Armenia" bloc, Robert Kocharyan, has returned to the country, and speculation about his "flight" from the country is groundless. Thus, the press service of the "Armenia" bloc responded to attempts by some circles in the country to promote the idea of Kocharyan's so-called "flight" from the country.

ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has filed a petition with the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia seeking permission to initiate  criminal prosecution against Andranik Tevanyan, leader of the Mother  Armenia party and a candidate for parliament from the Prosperous  Armenia party in the National Assembly elections.

ArmInfo. Gegham Manukyan, a member of the Armenian parliament from the opposition "Armenia" faction, accused the country's law enforcement agencies of carrying out the political instructions of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and persecuting opponents of the government.

ArmInfo.  The Hayaqve civic initiative called on the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia to disqualify Nikol Pashinyan, currently Prime Minister, from running in the June 2026 parliamentary elections as a candidate on the proportional list of the Civil Contract party due to gross abuse of office and calls for violence.

ArmInfo.  Armenian National Security Service officers and masked individuals have been conducting searches at the Mother Armenia party office at 20 Mashtots Street since early morning. Iveta Tonoyan, the press secretary of the Prosperous Armenia party, reported this on her Facebook page.

ArmInfo. Andranik Tevanyan, number two on the list of candidates for parliament from the opposition Prosperous Armenia party, responded to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's accusations against him of committing acts that fall under the article on treason.

ArmInfo.  The border guard troops at the National Security Service of Armenia are  currently fulfilling their mission under exceptional historical  circumstances, as stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at an  event marking the creation of the border troops on April 27.

ArmInfo. Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan believes it is inappropriate to draw comparisons between Ararat Mirzoyan's (Foreign Minister - ed.) collaboration with state security agencies during his time as an  opposition leader and  Archbishop Yezras's collaboration (head of the  Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church,  brother of Catholicos Karekin II - ed.).

ArmInfo. By the decision of the court of appeal, Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan, Chancellor of the  Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, has been immediately released from pretrial detention.  As lawyer Arsen Babayan reported on his Facebook page, the decision was made by  Judge Arsen Nikoghosyan.

ArmInfo.  The head of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC), Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhian, has filed a complaint with the European Court of Human  Rights (ECHR) regarding a violation of his rights guaranteed by the  European Convention on Human Rights.

ArmInfo. Samvel Karapetyan, a Russian businessman of Armenian descent and head of the Tashir Group of Companies, was transferred this afternoon from the Kentron penal facility, under the jurisdiction of the National Security Service of Armenia, to his Yerevan mansion under house arrest.

ArmInfo.  Non-partisan Armenian parliamentarian Taguhi Tovmasyan appealed to the Minister of Justice of the Republic, Srbuhi Galyan, regarding the violation of the right  of religious freedom of Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhyan, Primate of the  Shirak Diocese, who was previously sentenced to two years in prison  "for calling for the seizure of power in the country."

ArmInfo. The surgery of Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhian, Primate of the Shirak Diocese, has been postponed due to his health condition. Martun Grigoryan, MP from the  "I Have the Honor" faction, announced this on his Facebook page.

ArmInfo. At the initiative of the Diocesan Council of the Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church and with the blessing of His Holiness  Yezras, a meeting of the diocesan clergy, the diocesan council, and  the chairmen and representatives of parish councils from various  cities was held in Moscow, resulting in the adoption of a joint  statement. 

ArmInfo. Archbishop Mikael Ajapakhian, head of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, requires urgent surgery. Garnik Danielyan, a member of  parliament from the opposition Hayastan faction, told reporters this  on December 8 in parliament, where a closed-door debate on deaths and  suicides in penitentiary institutions was taking place.
