ArmInfo.. On August 20 in the evening, a protest action of green activists started in front of the RA Government against the development of the Amulsar mine. Earlier, protesters marched along the central streets of Yerevan; residents of  the city of Jermuk, who moved towards the capital this afternoon,  also joined them.

ArmInfo.The Armenian Environmental Front (AEF) issued a statement in connection with the situation around the Amulsar field.

ArmInfo.At the government level, attempts are being made to reduce the importance of the Amulsar issue to the public as much as possible, and to limit the dissemination of information regarding the problem. Political  scientist Andrias Ghukasyan stated this at a press conference on  August 14.

The US approach to the Amulsar field is to ensure fair treatment for this project. The US Ambassador to Armenia Lynn Tracy said this in an interview  with Civilnet, referring to the situation around the gold deposit.   "I also emphasize the need for transparent and predictable rules, as  well as the need for predictability of adoption decisions. In the  end, these are situations that foreign investors will closely monitor  in order to determine the attitude towards foreign investors in the  republic in terms of transparency and justice, "the diplomat said.

ArmInfo.  The claim to  invalidate the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) under the  Amulsar gold mine development program was rejected by the  Administrative Court of Armenia. This is stated in the comments of  the Lidian Armenia company developing the field.

ArmInfo. If Lydian Armenia  hid or falsified data on uranium reserves at the Amulsar deposit,  this will lead to serious consequences for it. This was announced on  October 29 at a hearing in parliamentary commissions on the draft  state budget of Armenia by the Minister of Nature Protection of the  Republic of Armenia Erik Grigoryan.

ArmInfo.  Former head of the  Amulsar case investigation team, Yura Ivanyan, has been appointed  head of the Department for Investigation of Corruption Crimes and  Property Crimes of the Main Directorate for Investigation of  Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of  Armenia.

ArmInfo. Residents of the city of Jermuk and the village of Gndevaz from the early morning of September 20 have been holding protests against the exploitation of  the Amulsar gold mine. Opponents of mine exploitation have been  declared strikes in schools in the region, and it is planned to  organize protests in Yerevan.

ArmInfo. In search of truth in  the Amulsar gold mine, the Armenian government intends to go all the  way. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyanl stated this at a  press conference on September 16, answering the question of whether  he thinks that 400 thousand dollars (this is exactly what the  taxpayer cost the expertise - Ed. note) were wasted.

ArmInfo.There are certain points in the law according to which the conclusion of the  Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) can be recognized as invalid.  The Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan said this in an  interview with reporters in parliament, referring to the prospects of  operating the Amulsar mine.  According to him, in case the EIA  conclusion loses force, other actions are indicated, in particular  inspections by the Inspection body.

ArmInfo.On September 9, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, during a regular conversation with a citizen on his Facebook page, again touched on the issue of  developing the Amuslar mine, urging citizens of the country who  blocked the road leading to the mine to unblock it. "As of right now,  we have no legal grounds to prohibit the operation of the Amulsar  mine," Pashinyan said.

ArmInfo. On September 6, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the interim president of Lydian international company Edward Sellers and the  general director of Lydian Armenia Hayk Aloyan.

ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia has denied media reports about the dismissal of Yura Ivanyan, a senior official from the Investigative Committee.   Naira Harutyunyan, spokeswoman for the IC, informed ArmInfo  correspondent about this.

ArmInfo.Amulsar project has a need for expert and legal assessment of the positive conclusion of the Investigative Committee. On September 4, Deputy Prime Minister  Tigran Avinyan stated this in a short conversation with reporters.

ArmInfo. Official investigation launched against Yuri Ivanyan, head of investigation team on Anulsar case. The head of the information and public relations department of  the Investigative Committee of Armenia Naira Harutyunyan stated this  in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent.

ArmInfo. The Armenian government got acquainted with the expert opinion of ELARD on the Amulsar project, and today has encountered problems in connection with the  interpretation of the document. With these words, the Prime Minister  of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan began his speech on August 29 at a Skype  conference with experts of the consulting company Earth link &  Advanced Resources Development (ELARD).

ArmInfo.Amulsar mine needs a new environmental impact assessment. Head of the parliamentary faction of the Bright Armenia Party Edmon Marukyan  expressed a  similar opinion to ArmInfo.

ArmInfo.During yesterday's Skype conference with experts of the consulting company Earth link & Advanced Resources Development (ELARD), which presented the expert  opinion on the Amulsar project, a number of new circumstances emerged  that needed to be investigated and evaluated. On August 30, Prime  Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced this on his Facebook  page.

ArmInfo.Using force on the Amulsar issue, it will become much more difficult for the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, to contrast himself with his  predecessors, leading researcher at the Center for Euro-Atlantic  Security of the Institute for International Studies at Moscow State  Institute of Foreign Relations Sergey Markedonov expressed a similar  opinion to ArmInfo.
