The Russian side will respond to  Azerbaijani counterparts through diplomatic channels to the country's Foreign Ministry statement demanding to refrain from mentioning Karabakh in political discussions. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova made this statement at a briefing, in response to a  question about Baku's demand not to mention the Karabakh issue, even though Baku itself does not recognize the new Russian territories.

ArmInfo.Armenia itself has recognized Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan.  Therefore, it would be inappropriate for the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to interfere in Baku's internal affairs, as pointed out by Russian President Vladimir Putin  during talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
