ArmInfo.The decision to release and return the detainees to their homeland belongs to the  parties to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Head of the Communication  Programs of the ICRC Delegation in Yerevan Zara Amatuni said in an  interview with ArmInfo correspondent, referring to the situation  related to the Armenian captive Karen Ghazaryan.

ArmInfo. The International  Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) acts as a neutral intermediary to  support efforts of the conflict sides to determine the fate of those  persons. In connection with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, there are  over 4,500 missing people, both military and civilians, registered by  the ICRC Delegations in Armenia and Azerbaijan and its Mission in  Nagorno-Karabakh. More than 400 of them were registered in Armenia.  Since 2014, the organization has been collecting DNA from the close  relatives of the missing. The goal is to preserve information that  may be used to identify human remains in the future.

This was stated in the  conversation with the correspondent of ArmInfo by the head of communication programs of the Yerevan delegation of the ICRC Zara Amatuni.

ArmInfo. The body of an Azerbaijani soldier was returned from Armenia to Azerbaijan today in a transfer facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The handover took place on the road between the Armenian town of Ijevan and the Azerbaijani town of Gazakh at the international border.
