National Security Service of Armenia has published record of the provocation made overnight on the territory of the building of the Police Patrol Service Regiment in Yerevan and has made a statement, which reads as follows:
"The armed group that seized the building of the Police Patrol Service Regiment in Yerevan on July 17 despite the calls to avoid conducting new crimes continues to take actions threatening life and health of law enforcers as well as destroy state property. Thus, such actions have lead to firefight and injuries overnight. National Security Service of Armenia states that the members of the armed group step by step develop a more dangerous criminal behavior, which is totally out of line. In this light in order to prevent new crimes Armenia's National Security Service will have to take stricter actions", the statement reads.
At the same time the statement reads that Armenia's NSS is aware about the intentions and criminal actions of the group and warns that all the threats to the health and life of the people will be immediately neutralized by retaliatory measures.
To note, according to the statement disseminated by the Armenian Police members of the armed group that seized the Police Patrol Service Regiment burnt a police bus outside the territory of the Regiment on July 25 in the period from 8:00pm to the midnight local time. "Afterwards, another two police cars were driven out of the territory and set to fire. In the given period, sporadic shots were heard from the area. At about 1:00am on July 26, an UAZ vehicle drove out of the seized Regiment area and headed towards the Police cordon. After the car approached the cordon too close, the police had to open fire at the engine to prevent the threats coming from the armed persons inside the car. The car turned to the left and stopped. The people inside opened fire. In response, the police targeted the tires of the car. Two of the three persons inside the car were wounded in the legs and had to retreat to the territory of the Regiment building. The law enforcers immediately called ambulances and suggested hospitalizing the wounded, the group members did not object. At the moment, both the wounded, Ashot Petyrosyan and Hovhanness Haroutiunyan, receive treatment at the hospital," the Police say in the statement received by ArmInfo. In the meantime, the armed group insists that the Police were the first to open fire.
