ArmInfo.Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, is not seeking the position of the country's prime minister. He made this statement when speaking to reporters.
"I will not be prime minister, and I don't see myself forming a coalition with either the previous or the current forces," Tsarukyan stated. Despite having four prime ministerial candidates within the party, Tsarukyan himself does not plan to run for the post. However, he will head the party's election list.
In response to a question about whether he would support the candidacy of the second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, for prime minister, Tsarukyan answered negatively. "If Robert Kocharyan is to become prime minister, then no," the PA leader remarked, adding that he does not support the rise of "former" leaders to power. At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of forming a coalition with Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia party, noting the possibility of negotiations on this matter. As for a coalition with the current political force, the politician categorically rejected this possibility.
Tsarukyan also noted that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is his friend, who fully supports the Armenian people.
