ArmInfo. During a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene, congratulated him on the establishment of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
According to Azerbaijani media, Aliyev claimed that Azerbaijan was the initiator of peace in the region and of efforts to establish trade relations between Yerevan and Baku. However, Aliyev omitted the fact that Azerbaijan was the initiator of the war in the region and the ethnic cleansing in Artsakh.
Aliyev then boasted about settling occupied Armenian villages with Azerbaijanis and building supposed villages and towns, although in reality, in most cases, the Azerbaijani side either wipes out entire villages or pretends to build them, simply appropriating the property of the people of Artsakh.
The meeting also touched upon cooperation between Azerbaijan and Lithuania within international organizations, in addition to the bilateral agenda. In this context, it was emphasized that Lithuania has always supported the development of Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union. The sides also exchanged views on regional issues.
