ArmInfo. The leader of any country of Armenia's caliber should not, and does not have the right, to interfere in the geopolitical games of the superpowers, according to Armenia's first president, Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
"One shouldn't be so naive as to think that they can promise one thing to one superpower and something else to another, and achieve success thanks to this 'cunning policy.' It is impossible to make deals behind the back of any superpower that the other superpowers don't know in detail," the politician wrote on his Facebook page.
According to Ter-Petrosyan, all superpowers have powerful intelligence capabilities making it unlikely for small countries to hide any secrets from them. "Therefore, leaders of small states must be as honest as possible with superpowers. Such behavior will undoubtedly be appreciated by the latter, and even if there is no gain, there is nothing to lose," he continued.
In short, Ter-Petrosyan added, in simple terms, the leader of a small country should never think that with his "little hand," playing on two strings, he can "incite" the world's great powers. "One of these strings, and sometimes both, will inevitably end up around his neck," the politician concluded.
