
ArmInfo. Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan delivered a speech the high-level international One Health summit, organized by the French government in Lyon.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Health, the summit aims to exchange international experience and pool efforts to advance the interconnectedness between human, animal, and ecosystem health. During her speech, Avanesyan presented the country's approaches to public health and ongoing reforms. She noted that protecting biodiversity is fundamental to ensuring the health and stability of our future. "Health is a vital component of national security, and it is our duty to ensure a stable and safe environment for present and future generations. Armenia is willing to cooperate with all international partners to translate these principles into measurable and global results," the Minister of Health emphasized.
Avanesyan also participated in several bilateral and multilateral meetings aimed at developing and expanding new opportunities for cooperation.
According to the source, during the summit, participants discussed the need to protect biodiversity, combat antimicrobial resistance, and develop sustainable food systems. The summit became an opportunity to rethink global institutional systems and create a unified culture of "one health." "Armenia views this platform as an important incentive for action-oriented multilateral cooperation and is fully committed to this agenda," the Ministry concluded.
The summit was held from April 5 to 7, 2026. The event was timed to coincide with World Health Day, celebrated on April 7.
