ArmInfo. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko considers it important to organize meetings between the CSTO Secretary General and the Armenian leadership.
"Especially now, during this tense electoral period, when the Armenian leadership will speak honestly and openly about the situation, including in the CSTO," the Belarusian leader noted, as quoted by Belta.
"It would be a good idea if you visited there and spoke with the Prime Minister, the President, and the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, and learned their position for the future," the head of state added, addressing CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov.
As a reminder, Armenia has been boycotting CSTO events since the end of 2022. In February 2024, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared that Armenia had effectively frozen its participation in the CSTO, as the organization had failed to fulfill its obligations to Armenia, which would inevitably have consequences. And on September 18, 2024, at the Second World Armenian Summit, Pashinyan declared that the CSTO posed threats to Armenia's security, its continued existence, sovereignty, and statehood.
