
ArmInfo.Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called for an end to the tolerant attitude toward the accession of Russia's neighbors, including Armenia, to the military-economic European Union.
In his post on Telegram, the politician stated that Donald Trump and America will not leave NATO. According to him, there is no reason for this, and Congress will not allow it. Medvedev is confident that Trump's rhetoric is pure shock value, although symbolic actions such as reducing the size of the American contingent or refusing to supply something are possible.
He said that this is not what is noteworthy. Medvedev called the existence of powerful contradictions within the alliance, exacerbated by the Iranian campaign, obvious. "And European political zealots, especially in Brussels, are seriously considering creating a full-fledged military component within the EU. This is changing the worldview. Until now, our rhetoric regarding EU membership has been reserved and calm, applied to all our neighbors, even Bandera's Ukraine. If you want to join, go ahead," the Russian official continued.
However, he is confident that, given the above, everything must now change-the EU is no longer an economic union.
