ArmInfo. The $500,000 funds received by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from the 2026 Zayed Prize for Human Brotherhood will be directed into a special deposit account. The corresponding decision was made at the RA government meeting on April 2.
The rationale for the draft resolution cites the need to adopt a legal act for the management of the prize. Currently, there is a need to ensure the execution and separate accounting of the aforementioned budget revenues and expenses incurred to this account.
The draft provides for the right to open an off-budget deposit account in Armenian drams in its name at the Treasury of the RA Ministry of Finance. This provision will allow for the deposit of prize funds and ensure the financing of expenses determined by RA government decisions. The decision will ensure transparency in the management of prize funds and the ability to use them for their intended purpose, as well as the introduction of separate accounting of income and expenses through the state treasury system.
