ArmInfo. As Prime Minister, I reject the agenda of restoring historical justice because I believe we must pursue a just reality. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during a briefing on March 26, answering journalists' questions.
"Because as long as we pursue historical injustices, we will continue to face new historical injustices, and I consider it my duty to inform my people of this. It takes courage, including the Prime Minister, to raise these issues openly and publicly. The final straw for my determination was my communication and discussions with the citizens of Armenia over the past month," the head of government said. Answering a question about whether Azerbaijan had committed ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, Pashinyan noted that he generally considers the rhetoric of "ethnic cleansing" harmful. "We can say 'ethnic cleansing' and get it in return; we can say 'genocide' and get genocide in return-that is, embarking on a path of conflict," he said. The prime minister emphasized that this is not his goal, but rather for the people of Nagorno- Karabakh to settle in Armenia, to have work, a home, security, freedom, and prosperity here, just like the citizens of Armenia. "I'm busy with this," he said.
