Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, has been appointed by the OSCE Chairman-in-Office to head the international observation mission for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Hungary. As Special Coordinator and Head of the Mission, Khandanyan will coordinate the work of the OSCE short-term observation missions to the Parliamentary Assembly, PACE, and the OSCE/ODIHR.
During his working visit to the Hungarian capital from March 24-26, the MP met with representatives of government agencies involved in the electoral process in Hungary, political parties participating in the elections, representatives of the Hungarian parliament and government, civil society representatives, and the media, as well as the OSCE/ODIHR team conducting the long-term observation mission. During the meetings, Sarkis Khandanyan was briefed on the preparatory work for the elections and the progress of the election campaign.
Parliamentary elections in Hungary will be held on April 12.
