ArmInfo. Politicians can and have the right to make political analyses. And the Prime Minister, as one of the leading political figures in the Republic of Armenia, has the right to do so, and this is an assessment. This was stated by RA Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, commenting on the Prime Minister's earlier statements that if the ruling Civil Contract party is not in power, war will break out in September.
According to him, there are two agendas in Armenia's political landscape today: peace and war. Specifically, one concerns certain demands on neighbors, the other concerns establishing peace in the region.
"If you focus on Nikol Pashinyan personally, then so be it, and Nikol Pashinyan will be considered a symbol of peace. I am absolutely not against this," he noted. In response to the comment that Pashinyan mentioned a specific date for the war-September-the speaker noted that opposition representatives had also raised similar issues, talking about each year and naming the month. "Why are you surprised? What's so strange about that?" Simonyan concluded.
