According to the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the two foreign ministers also exchanged views on possible efforts to end military escalation in the region. They also emphasized the importance of ensuring security in the Caspian region.
Bayramov again emphasized the Azerbaijani side's expectations for the completion of the investigation into the drone attacks launched from Iran on Nakhchivan. The parties also exchanged views on bilateral issues of mutual interest. In these calls, Araghchi detailed the scale and consequences of the recent US-Israeli attacks on provinces near the Caspian Sea and warned of the security and environmental consequences of these attacks for the Caspian Sea and adjacent territories.
Referring to the threats posed to the Caspian Sea and coastal countries, the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized the need for a responsible stance, condemnation of these attacks, and the necessary measures to counter their consequences.
Earlier, it was reported that the Azerbaijani-Israeli tandem launched strikes against Iranian speedboats in the Caspian Sea.
